Deposition reliability and DepoChat response controls

New:

  • Response length control in DepoChat. You can now set how much detail DepoChat gives you, from terse to detailed. Long answers are hard to use in the middle of a deposition, and this puts that choice in your hands rather than ours. The control is fully keyboard-operable.

Fixed:

  • Deposition notes now save reliably. Notes could previously report a successful save and then be gone after navigating away and back. They persist correctly.
  • Deposition outlines are no longer lost. Outlines could be dropped on save, on restore, or overwritten by an unrelated update. All three paths are fixed.
  • Documents uploaded during a live deposition now reach the model. Attaching a file mid-session succeeded, but the advisory engine and DepoChat could not actually see it. They can now.
  • Transcript continuity through connection interruptions. Transcript fragments received during a dashboard connection drop are no longer discarded.
  • Periodic deep analysis now receives the full transcript. A bug meant the deep-analysis pass was not being given the deposition text it was meant to review.
  • More careful speaker attribution. The advisory engine no longer asserts who said what in situations where speaker identity has not been established.

Transcript accuracy

Transcript accuracy and audio capture

Fixed:

  • Transcript segments are now in chronological order. Timestamps could appear out of sequence and occasionally duplicated when audio chunks were processed concurrently.
  • [indiscernible] markers sit in the right place. The marker could be positioned before the wrong word when it fell next to restyled text.
  • Audio capture no longer stalls mid-session. A stall in the microphone pipeline could silently stop audio reaching transcription for the rest of a session.
  • Smoother sign-up through Google. Terms acceptance made on the sign-up tab now carries through sign-in instead of prompting a second time.

Account security and encrypted service traffic

New:

  • Account lockout after repeated failed sign-in attempts. Repeated bad passwords now lock the account rather than allowing unlimited attempts.
  • TLS on internal service-to-service traffic. Traffic to the speaker-identification service is encrypted in transit.
  • Per-session authorization on speaker identification. Access to a session's speaker data is now bound to that session.

Faster load and zero-downtime deploys

Improved:

  • Faster first load. The application bundle is now split by route, so signing in and starting a deposition no longer waits on code for admin, billing, and reporting screens.
  • Zero-downtime deploys. DepoGator moved to a datastore that supports concurrent access, removing the short outage that used to accompany each release.
  • Speaker names render correctly in transcripts and reports. Formal transcripts and After-Action Reports showed generic "Speaker 0/1/2" labels in place of mapped participant names.
